I am of German-Swedish origin, but have lived and worked most of my life abroad in Europe and overseas. Most recently I lived in London where I ran my own business IN-Tuition Ltd, offering yoga and life coaching to yoga studios and private individuals. At the start of 2012 I moved back to Sweden after 14 years abroad. I’m now based in Malmö and Lund (south Sweden) where I practice and teach Mysore style Ashtanga yoga at Ashtanga Yoga Malmö/Lund. You also find me regularly at Astanga Yoga Copenhagen.
I started my professional life working with international relations and human rights in the Swedish Foreign Service. After several years in the business I “hit the wall”. My work had totally consumed me; I had neglected my health to a point where my body and mind both abruptly said stop.
I realised that I could no longer be happy in my regular job. I had to change my priorities and become more responsive to my body’s signals. Through yoga and mental training I managed to slowly recover. I found that I wanted to share the benefits of yoga with others and the transition to working with people’s well-being on a full-time basis came naturally.
In 2007 I retrained to become a Yoga teacher and Yoga therapist for mental health. Today I have more than 1000hrs of training but more importantly I have a daily self practice from which I continue to learn and develop as a person and teacher. I have the Authorization by the KPJAYI in Mysore to teach the full Primary and Intermediate series of Ashtanga Yoga. I am also registered with the Independent Yoga Network and a member of The Minded Institute as yoga teacher and yoga therapist for mental health.
In addition I’m a certified Life Coach and Stress Manager/Relaxation therapist and a member of the International Coaching Community (ICC). I have 18 years of experience in the health and fitness business as a spinning and gym instructor. I’m also a former long distance runner (marathon) and cyclist but nowadays I only go out running or cycling occasionally.
I teach Ashtanga yoga following the tradition and lineage of Sri K Pattabhi Jois and the KPJAYI in Mysore. I also offer specific sessions in yoga for mental well-being, mental and physical relaxation. My teaching focuses particularly on becoming more aware of the breath and to the body’s signals. This allows students to practice yoga safely; awaken, open, re–align and strengthen their body step by step. Please visit Ashtanga Yoga Malmö/Lund to see my regular teaching hours. For private sessions please contact me.
